Originally a graphics designer, Shelagh has developed her technique to reveal the beauty of her subjects. A graduate of Croydon Art School in 1968, Shelagh Hickman worked first in London as a graphic designer for HAMLYN BOOKS where she stayed until 1981.
She now lives in the Chevreuse valley which she is particularly fond of, and which is close to Paris. The naïve precision of her paintings makes them seem like film backgrounds. The perfect mastery of colour and technique which she has acquired and perfected over the last twenty years has led to her being awarded several prizes. Her subjects, which are treated delicately, with balance and harmony, are an invitation to contemplation.
